Fishing For Dinner In Key West

Fall weather brings in food for the fisherman table. The past couple of days down here in Key West the wind have been howling, and the air temperature have been quite a bit cooler. Very enjoyable non-the less this changes up the fishing. Giving the customer the
run down of the weather prediction and fishing conditions, I managed to fish the last couple of days. Limited by the element we opted for: the Fun fishing as I call it. Fishing in the creeks and rivers that parallel the adjacent flats, we managed to keep our selves busy. Catching plenty of Jack Crevaile, Lady Fish, Sharks, and Mangrove Snapper.

The Mangrove Snapper are an abundant fish found down here in the keys. Not enormous in size yet big on taste. These fish are a little treasure that we flats guide and locals alike have grown to love. Eating a regular diet of fish, I personally rate these at the top of my list of food fairing fish. I have sent customer home with a few bags of these fillets and got nothing but rave reviews. Being a light, flakey, delicate fillet it has a very mild flavor. ? It did not taste fish at all.? That the response I hear the most. Guess what? No fish should taste overly fishy if it is indeed fresh.

Just lightly seared or broiled with a little lemon, garlic and butter and you got it made.
Add a bunch of fresh Asparagus with some home made hollandaise sauce, a side of coconut/ginger rice and you have your guides favorite home cooked meal.

Hey lets face it we all love to fish and enjoy bending the rods so if we cant fish for the Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit due to weather restrictions maybe we can go catch dinner.

Keep in mind there are a great deal of restaurant in Key West that will cook your catch for you.
