Fishing Key West, the holiday season.
Report Date: December 20, 2006
Tis’ the season to be fishing. Now that its winter time up north, and cold in most parts of the united states, the winter travelers and or anglers are starting to show up in Key West to fish. Lucky for them the fishing in Key West has been real good. There are a few large Barracuda to be fishing for, plenty of Permit, quite a few Sharks and some Bonefish. In fact my fly fishing customer had several shots at Bonefish over the last three days. Last week while fishing a fly fisherman we actual landed two Bonefish and pulled the hook on a third. The back country or the creek fishing has been slowly and steadily getting better. While creek fishing we catch, what I the fun fish: Jack Crevaile, Lady Fish, Sea trout, Pompano and Snapper. This is a bit more laid back fishing and is a real good chance to catch high numbers of fish. This fishing is certainly not like Permit or Barracuda fishing, however, it can make for a great day if the weather is, well not good for sight fishing on the flat. If you have not been fishing in Key West and are wondering what this Flats Fishing is all about, book a trip and try it out. I bet you will love it, look what I do for a living.
