Fishing Key West In October
Report Date: October 16, 2003
October is upon us and in keeping in tradition of the witches, Goblins and Ghost.
The fish had vanished for a few days- Like a Ghost! Our first cold front came through rite on schedule. As my fishing log book states year after year, about the middle of October we get our first taste of fall down here in the Keys. So the fishing has been a bit tough for the last 4 or 5 days. And much to my shegrin I have had fly fisherman, and lots of wind and few fish. The joy of this time of year is that for a change you can spend a day on the water and never break a sweat.
The fishing for the most part has been great for October. Plenty of fish around to keep us busy. We even jumped a couple of Tarpon last week on live Pinfish. Bones, Permit, and a few Tarpon. The Barracuda and Shark are starting to show up a bit more frequently on the flats due to cooler water. Thinking back just yesterday we caught a nice Cuda on fly.
The fishing will be great again and the fall down here in Key West, offers some of the best Bonefish and Permit fishing one could ever experience.
Give me a call and well get you out fishing.
Tarpon dates a going away, so book today if you have not already done so.
Let Go Fish!
