Flats Fishing Key West During Spring Break
Report Date: March 19, 2004
March is certainly rolled in like a lion; I just pray we can tame it before it beats us up to bad. The weather has been exceptional over all this March if you are a kite surfer or a sail boater. An average daily wind of 15 knots, however, plenty of warm sun to keep the water warm.
Plenty of Tarpon around this week, in fact I caught one yesterday. The Permit fishing is always good in March. Not to many Bonefish around, however, I have not been chasing them with the abundance of Permit now on the flats. There are some big Cuda still lying around on the sand and a fair amount of Sharks.
Plenty of action during the slow times with the Jacks and the Lady Fish in the creeks. So over all I would say March is looking good thus far.
So what are you waiting for?
Lets Go Fish!
