Key West Fishing Is There Anything Better In The World?
Report Date: November 20, 2004
Well Turkey day is just around the corner, which means one of my favorite times of year to fish Key West. As a child I remember going fishing on Thanksgiving morning with my father while my Mother and Sister stayed home a cooked. Not because Dad and I where being cheveunistic that?s what they choose to do. What an amazing Turkey day those where. I loved every one of them and now I laugh inside as I take people out on half-day Turkey trips.
Anyhow, the Permit fishing is getting better? We had a bit of strong north east wind for about 2 or 3 days so it pretty much put the kibosh on the Permit and Tarpon and Bonefish and just about everything? However, I am happy to say that I was out this morning and did manage to find a few Tarpon, however, we had no takers. Then by mid afternoon we managed to bounce a few crabs off the heads of some Permit. No luck with the Permit either, however, we did manage to catch a few Barracuda, one of them must have been in the mid to upper 20?s.
The weather outlook looks good through Turkey day so with any luck I?ll be on the water chasing those Permit before the feast.
Don?t Wait for Tarpon dates!
