November in Key West and still chasing bonefish.
Report Date: November 17, 2013
Despite the fact that winter is rapidly approaching the northern states, we are still blessed with warm air and warm water temperatures down here in the Keys.
The fishing has been a mixed bag, and unfortunately hard to predict one days to the next in terms of what we're fishing for on the flats.
A few barracuda have been scattered about if you ready with a streamer or a tube lure.
Permit fishing has been getting better as the water temperatures have dropped slightly. The permit that I have seen lately have are larger in size. This is a good thing.
On many occasions out there this past month I or rather my customers have had great bonefishing. Not epic by any stretch but having shots or catching a couple on some days.
The backcountry creeks are starting to fill up with bait.
So the large schools of jacks and sea trout are rolling in with this bait.
Things are looking good down here for fishing in key west Florida so far this fall.
